Description

Carry a true explosion of culture, color, and tradition with the dazzling Loom Kaleidoscope Tote Bag. Crafted entirely by hand, this 10.2-inch (26 cm) tall bag is a tribute to vibrant Salvadoran textile art. Its main body is made entirely from authentic multicolor loom fabric scraps, joined together in an exquisite patchwork design. Each geometric block showcases a unique striped pattern in bright tones such as blue, red, orange, green, and purple, creating a piece where no two angles are alike. To balance this visual richness, the bag incorporates elegant circular bamboo handles, which are attached to the body using firm, vibrant orange fabric loops. Its interior is fully protected by a soft fabric lining, ensuring your belongings travel safely and stay organized. It is the perfect accessory to become the focal point of any outfit, radiating joy and deep artisanal pride in your everyday life.

Sonia Patricia

Hi, my name is Sonia Patricia, and I was born in Santa Ana, El Salvador. I learned to weave when I was a young girl, never imagining that one day this skill would become one of my greatest sources of strength. Five years ago, after losing my job, I had to find a new way to support myself. Rather than give up in the face of uncertainty, I decided to learn how to work with jute and explore the possibilities this new skill could offer.

With hard work and determination, I was able to establish a small weaving workshop in Santa Ana, where I handcraft jute bags. Turning my skills into a reliable source of income wasn’t easy at first, but little by little, I refined my technique and found a sense of fulfillment in every piece I created. Today, my bags represent much more than a way to make a living. They allow me to support myself through my own work and take pride in knowing that I still have so much to create and contribute.

My bags are sold primarily at the National Artisan Market in San Salvador, where people who appreciate handmade goods can discover my work. Each piece carries a part of my story and reflects the determination of a woman who chose to start over when life took an unexpected turn. For me, working with jute is not just a way to earn a living; it is also a reminder to believe in myself and in everything I can still achieve.
