Description

Add a touch of warmth and rustic charm to your lounging space with our Sunset Berry Handcrafted Canvas Hammock. Dominated by a rich, deep pink hue, this piece is subtly illuminated by delicate stripes in yellow, light pink, and ochre, evoking the colors of a serene Salvadoran sunset. Moving away from open-net weaves, this design is crafted entirely from heavy-duty solid canvas. This continuous artisanal fabric offers an uninterrupted resting surface that blocks cool breezes and retains your body heat, providing firm, uniform support at every contact point. True to the pure tradition of Central American relaxation, its silhouette features no wooden spreader bars or macramé side adornments. This allows the thick canvas to naturally yield and wrap entirely around you, creating a deeply cozy, intimate retreat. With ample room to comfortably accommodate two adults, it is the perfect nest to cuddle up and disconnect from the world.

Key Features

  • Solid & Snug Support: Crafted with continuous handcrafted canvas that eliminates drafts, providing a firm base that retains warmth and hugs the entire contour of your body.
  • Sunset Color Palette: Its captivating visual aesthetic features a dominant dark pink background, beautifully accented by yellow, ochre, and lighter pink lines that inject warmth and energy into any setting.
  • Total Traditional Immersion: Designed without wooden spreaders or macramé fringes, allowing the hammock’s ends to organically gather and envelop you in a protective, relaxing cocoon.
  • Intimate Retreat for Two: Its generous 131.5-inch (334 cm) total length provides a spacious and secure area, perfectly sized for two people to share a moment of absolute comfort.

Fredy Vásquez

Hi, my name is Fredy Orlando Vásquez Penado, and I was born in Cantón Ojo de Agua, in Usulután, El Salvador. My journey as an artisan began when a friend taught me how to make hammocks. What started as an opportunity to learn a new skill eventually became my main source of income and a way to build a better future for my family.

I have been making knotted hammocks for over six years and crafting fishing nets, known locally as atarrayas, for about three years. Both crafts require time, patience, and dedication, because every knot matters and the quality of the finished piece depends on the care put into every detail. Although this type of work is uncommon in my area, I decided to learn the craft with the goal of creating high-quality, durable products tailored to each customer’s preferences.

Today, I have a small workshop at the National Artisan Market in San Salvador, where I spend my days working and sharing my creations with visitors. Every hammock and fishing net I finish represents an opportunity to provide for my wife and son. Knowing that my work helps me take care of them inspires me to keep weaving, one knot at a time, with the same commitment and dedication that guided me from the beginning.
